A creative lab and performance group motivated by a shared desire to collaborate and perform.

Founded in 2023 by Stephanie Shin, Synchronous is a multifaceted group driven by transparency, inclusivity, and individual voice. Collaborators combine diverse skill sets to form a knowledge base which we utilize to fully realize ideas. Synchronous ensures space for each collaborator to realize their creative projects including choreography, interdisciplinary work, and performance. As a collective, Synchronous ensures a network of support including but not limited to - administrative needs, grant research and application assistance, press release writing and development, booking performance space, and artistic mentorship throughout the creative process. 

Stephanie Shin's first full-length production and Synchronous' inaugural performance, "SYNCHRONICITY", premiered March 10th and 11th 2023 at Arts on Site in New York City. Synchronous performed an excerpt of "SYNCHRONICITY" Saturday, May 13th 2023 at the CoreDance Festival at the O'Donnell Theater in Brooklyn. Stephanie Shin premiered new choreography at the We Belong Here: AAPI Festival on August 19th 2023 at Arts on Site entitled "on the subject of bananas". Synchronous performed Emily Aslin's choreography, "Recognition", at the Spark Theater Festival on November 17th 2023. Synchronous premiered "UTILITY", a collaborative project with Emissary Quartet (EQ) with choreography by Stephanie Shin and Emily Aslin, on April 17-18, 2024. Synchronous and EQ performed at the Blue Building, NY with music composed by Owen Eddy and others.
